We seek a skilled and dynamic Retail Manager to oversee Mod + Jo’s new West Bend store as we enter the Fort Worth retail market that will oversee operations and lead a team of dedicated stylists. As the Retail Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high morale among staff, handling client escalations, managing inventory restocks, and overseeing merchandising efforts. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the retail industry.

Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Supervise and motivate a team of stylists by providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Set performance goals and targets for the team, and monitor individual and collective progress.
  • Assist in conducting regular performance evaluations and provide constructive  feedback to enhance team members' skills and development.
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, cooperation, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Implement efficient operational processes and systems to streamline daily operations and enhance productivity.
  • Create a positive and motivating work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and employee satisfaction.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding performance, boosting team morale and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Address employee concerns or conflicts quickly and effectively, promoting open communication and conflict resolution.

Customer Service: 

  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided by the stylist team, setting high standards for customer interactions.
  • Handle client escalations and resolve any issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Train staff on effective customer service techniques and ensure they consistently deliver a personalized and memorable shopping experience.
  • Lead by example and validate the quality of the in-store customer experience by communicating,training, and upholding expectations 
  • Provide in-store coaching to the staff, working alongside them to demonstrate best practices in hosting, customer service and product knowledge.
  • Lead and connect with a clientele strategy to build lasting relationships with existing customers and drive new customer acquisition.  
  • Ensure positive customer experience and promotion of services offerings including piercing, engraving, and permanent jewelry services.

Operations:

  • Responsible for providing day-to-day support to the store team to ensure all objectives are achieved, operational, brand and product standards are maintained & store teams are set up for success.
  • Identify and escalate opportunities, gaps, risks and roadblocks with urgency and partner as needed with cross functional teams to resolve.
  • Partner with Operations Director to hold successful inventory & cycle counts on a weekly basis, ensuring teams have proper technology in place and troubleshooting guidance where needed.

Merchandising:

  • Assist visual merchandising efforts to ensure attractive and appealing displays that highlight the jewelry collection.
  • Collaborate with the HQ team to improve and implement any updates to product offerings, in-store processes, etc based on customer feedback and requests.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and competitors' offerings to make informed decisions regarding product assortment and merchandising strategies.
  • Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to maximize sales.

 

Inventory Management:

  • Manage floor inventory levels, monitor stock levels, and ensure timely restocking of popular items.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain accuracy and minimize loss or discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Retail Manager or similar role, preferably in the fashion or jewelry industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • A customer-centric mindset with a passion for providing outstanding service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Deep local knowledge and informed of trends in retail.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment –you understand the importance of experimentation and iteration.

We seek a skilled and dynamic Assistant Retail Manager to help oversee Mod + Jo’s new West Bend store as we enter the Fort Worth retail market that will aid the Retail Manager in operations and lead a team of dedicated stylists. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the retail industry.

Responsibilities:

Sales:

  • Support the development of store business strategies, as defined by the Store- and Operations-Manager
  • Maximize results and achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), by driving own performance as well as the performance and engagement of the team
  • Drive business through clienteling, sourcing new customers, and fostering ongoing productive relationships with customers
  • Review weekly and monthly sales and product performance data taking action to improve sales performance
  • Recognize and recommend changes to improve product performance where possible
  • Improve sales performance of the team through feedback, coaching and training alongside the Retail Manager
  • Review space productivity data and take action to maximize productivity and sales performance
  • Gather insights from customers and provide feedback to headquarters
  • Support in-store marketing and promotional initiatives at a high standard and communicate cross functionally
  • Provide in-store coaching to staff, working alongside them to demonstrate best practices in hosting, customer service and product knowledge. 
  • Promptly respond to and escalate any customer complaints.

Leadership:

  • Assist the Store Manager in coaching and developing a service-minded and high performing team
  • Assist in the hiring process for key team members in your store
  • Build and promote strong collaborative relationships between and your team members
  • Clearly communicate expected standards and demonstrate desired behaviors, while always leading by example
  • Create and participate in new hire onboarding and training activities for team members, ensuring a high standard for delivery
  • Embed the Mod + Jo values into the team’s daily activities
  • Monitor team compliance with Mod + Jo policies and procedures

Operations:

  • Supporting maintenance of visual and operational standards with the leadership team
  • Assist with the store scheduling to support great customer experience
  • Work with the store team to identify any opportunities to improve the daily operations of the store (ie systems, processes). Communicate with headquarters where appropriate
  • Communicate all office and cleaning supply inventory needs with headquarters
  • Manage team to prepare for and conduct stock-takes in a timely and effective manner 
  • Report any issues within the store to the Store Manager including maintenance, cleaning and safety issues. 
  • Manage security of store, raising all  issues with Store Manager and Headquarters

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Experience as a leader in retail, sales and customer service
